Summary

The UKIAb Registry is a list of children, young people and adults who have markers in their blood (islet autoantibodies) that indicate they are at risk of developing type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Aim

  • To keep in touch with registry particpiants, to let them know about new research, available trials or treatments to delay or prevent type 1 diabetes
  • To understand what it is like living in the early stages of type 1 diabetes
  • To learn what support people need
  • To work with public and patient groups and Diabetes UK to guide policy for their care

Eligibility to take part

  • A positive T1D blood marker (islet autoantibody) test
  • Aged 6 months to 70 years
  • Living in the UK

What will I be asked to do?

  • Provide agreement to share medical and family history data when you first join
  • Complete a brief questionnaire once per year
  • Allow your data to be linked to your NHS records (optional)
  • You may be invited to take part in an interview study (optional)
